Flower Arrangement Ideas For Wedding Shower

If you’re looking for wedding flower arrangement ideas you’ve come to the right place.

My love for flowers causes me to make a mental note of every beautiful floral arrangement I see. Then it is carefully documented into a notebook with a sketch, colors, and other flowers that might be substituted. Notes about where the arrangement might be used and price range is also included.

If I have my camera with me I also take photos from several angles along with anything around it that helps to enhance the beauty. I note where the arrangement is placed such as type of furniture, table cloth, pedestal, etc. I also make a note of the approximate height and width of the arrangement.

These notes are especially helpful when planning an event. Photos help judge if an area will accommodate the area in question.

One particular floral arrangement that I fell in love with over 20 years ago is still as fresh in my mind as the day I saw it. I never made a sketch of it because I knew it would be unforgettable. I have made quiet a few similar pieces during the years and always get a lot of compliments from guests.

This especially beautiful arrangement is a tall airy one with just enough flowers and very little greenery so it can be made fairly inexpensively if desired. The container is a wire basket lined with beautiful organic green sheet moss on the inside to cover the florist container. It is filled with snapdragon, iris, lily as the focal flower, a few roses, peruvian lily, orchids, and ivy trailing over the basket. Bear grass here and there adds to the airy feel.

Another special arrangement from my personal notes is one for a table centerpiece. Use a tall cylinder vase. Place three roses in enough water to cover the ends of the stems. The roses should be cut with one tall (almost to the top of the vase), one in the middle and one toward the bottom. Add a few clear pebbles to cover the base of the stems.

The top of the vase will have an arrangement sitting on it so that the flowers flow over the sides of the vase. Use open roses, hydrangea, Peruvian lily, and a few Gerbera daisies. Bear grass is always an added touch to make it light and airy.

If you would like a very large centerpiece, try this arrangement in a group of three. Be sure to use three different height vases. The staggered rose stems in the vase will then be duplicated in the arrangements. Rose petals can be scattered across the table to make the base even larger. Tea lights or votive candles really add to the charm!

Rose petals can hold their own for the floral part of a centerpiece. When used with floating candles they can be just as effective as a large arrangement.

For a foyer or buffet table, place a large gold framed mirror on the wall close to the table top. Fill cylinder vases with water and add floating candles. Use odd numbers like 3, 5, 7, or 9. Scatter rose petals over the table around the vases. Add lights in clear votive cups to echo the vases. The gold frame will be reflected in each vase and votive cup and will create an overall golden arrangement! The secret is using mirrors to magnify them.

If this arrangement is used in the reception area, the tables would look so beautiful with small framed mirrors laying on the tables. Round tables are perfect or you can place the cylinder vases in groupings down the center of the table for a rectangular setting. How lovely to have everything glowing and to have only used a few roses to create such a magnificent centerpiece!

Why this is a perfect centerpiece:

• This is the easiest arrangement you could possibly make so for the DIY bride, your worries are over!

• There is almost no waste so it is very sustainable

• It can be set up well in advance with petals placed at the last minute

• Vases could be rented or borrowed so it could be very inexpensive to create

• It is very elegant and will accommodate any color scheme

• All materials used can be re-used or given as gifts

• Easy clean up
